Computrol chooses ACE again

December 10, 2013

ACE Production Technologies is pleased to announce that Computrol, Inc. has invested in a third ACE KISS-103 selective soldering system.

The new KISS-103 selective soldering system will be installed at the Computrol Orem, Utah plant after the great success Computrol has experienced with their first two KISS-103 units at the company’s Meridian, Idaho facility.

“We decided to purchase another ACE KISS-103 since we have experienced excellent, consistent results with the first two,” said James Spencer, Engineering Manager at Computrol."
“We have been able to significantly reduce the amount of hand soldering we perform, eliminate masking and expensive solder pallets, and increase throughput. The ROI was well worth the cost.”

The KISS-103 is a fully configured automated selective soldering machine which can solder boards up to 18” x 24” (457mm x 610mm). It is equipped with “Super Quick” Z-axis motion resulting in a 20% increase in production speed. The KISS-103 comes standard with universal PCB location rails with motor driven adjustment, a heated nitrogen inerting system and manual fiducial alignment. The KISS-103 is also equipped with the ACE drop-jet spray head capable of precision flux application with virtually no overspray for true no-clean processing.

Computrol is a world-class provider of medium to low volume, high-mix electronic manufacturing services for the aerospace and medical industries. Services include PCB prototyping and highmix production, box build, cable harness and backplane assembly.
